Description
The lych gate in the churchyard of the Church of SS Asaph and Kentigern features rubble stone gable ends that support a slate roof. The outer (west) side is connected to the churchyard perimeter wall and includes double wooden gates from the 19th century. The south gable end has a battered appearance due to restoration work completed in 1962. Inside the gate, there are ledges with slate benches, which were also added in 1962. On the north wall, there are tablets inscribed with the names 'William Jones, Peter Griffiths, Churchwardens 1735', and above this, 'Ed Sanders, J Cartwright, Wardens 1857'. A tablet commemorating the restoration in 1962 is located on the south wall.
