Description

Llanasa Village Hall is a Tudor Gothic style building constructed from snecked rubble stone, topped with a graded slate roof that features coped gables supported by moulded kneelers. A tall stone chimney stack is located on the left side. The hall consists of a main range with two porches, likely intended for separate entrances for boys and girls, and a short parallel wing at the center. The School House is attached to the rear of the main building.

The main range has a gabled bellcote at the left end, which houses a single bell in a pointed opening. The front facade has four bays with stepped buttresses, set diagonally at the left end, and features 3-light mullioned and transomed windows, except for the right-hand bay, which contains a 3-light window in a lower porch. The right side porch has a boarded door beneath a shouldered lintel. The right gable end of the main range displays a 3-light window above a blind ventilation strip.

At the left gable end, there is a set-back gabled porch with a 4-centred arch facing the front, adorned with roll and hollow mouldings but lacking capitals, along with a boarded door. The side wall of the porch includes a 2-light window, and above it, the gable end has a narrow ventilation strip. A flat-roofed projection extends behind the porch and continues around the rear, where it meets the parallel rear wing, which features a 3-light mullioned and transomed window in its gable end below a blind ventilation strip. This wing is connected to the adjacent School House.

Inside, the large schoolroom was originally open to the roof, but the original trusses are now hidden above a suspended ceiling. A moveable screen was used to divide the room into separate classes for boys and girls, with fireplaces at each end that are now blocked, although the screen has been removed. The walls contain small round-backed niches with ledges, and the rear wing accommodated a separate small classroom.
