Description
The Red Lion Inn is a 2-storey public house built with whitened rubble-stone walls and a roof made of graded local slate, featuring coped gables on moulded kneelers and four coursed-stone stacks. The windows have wedge lintels, stone sills, and 4-pane sashes that were added in the late 19th century. The entrance is located to the right of the center, within an added gabled porch that has double doors.
On the right gable end, there is a single-storey former bakehouse constructed of whitened rubble stone, with a slate roof and a stack that has been cut down on the right side. The front wall of the bakehouse projects in front of the main building and includes a small-pane hornless sash window. Additionally, there is a lean-to structure set back against the gable end. On the left gable of the main building, there is a lower wing made of rubble stone with a concrete tile roof. A rear wing features an added projection on the west side.
Inside, most internal partitions have been removed. The room on the right retains a fireplace with a timber lintel, likely from the earlier house, while the room on the left has a stone-lintelled fireplace. The bakehouse contains a brick fireplace.
