Description
Lane Cottage is a single-storey cottage that features a main two-window range with an in-line addition to the left, which extends the original cottage by a single bay kitchen. The exterior is rendered over brick and topped with a low slate roof that has tiled cresting. There are gable end stacks, including the original gable end to the left and the end wall of the kitchen extension. The doorway is offset to the left and features a 1930s door, flanked by asymmetrically placed horizontally sliding sash windows, each with two panes. These openings are located just beneath the low eaves and have raised rendered dressings. There is a similar window in the left-hand bay. The small windows at the rear are modern and were likely added later. Although not inspected, it is reported that the interior includes a later 19th-century range and fireplaces.
