Description
Halkyn Old Hall is a Georgian, two-storey, five-bay house constructed of rubble stone, featuring a hipped slate roof with projecting bracketed eaves and brick stacks located at the centre and ends. The windows are 16-pane hornless sashes, with concrete lintels replacing the original wooden ones. The main entrance, located in the left bay of the centre, has a reed-moulded surround leading to a panelled door that includes glazed panels. To the right of the doorway, there is a rubble-stone wall, marking the division of the building into two properties. A second doorway has been inserted in the right-hand bay, situated within an added gabled porch that features double doors.
On the right end wall, there is a lower rubble-stone wing with two windows, which have been replaced with small-pane windows that extend above the eaves in the upper storey. The left side wall contains two-light windows dating from around 1899, offset to the left, with small-pane upper lights. Behind the main structure, there is an added rear wing with brick jambs and a hipped roof, featuring four-light windows similar to those on the end wall of the main range. The property has not been inspected.
