Description
Quarry Park Cottage is a single-storey, three-bay vernacular cottage built between 1825 and 1840. It features a single-bay kitchen range added to the east between 1880 and 1900, and a single-bay addition to the west made in the late 20th century. These later additions are narrower than the original cottage. The exterior is constructed of thinly coursed rubble with tooled ashlar lintels above the openings, and it has a central door with irregular fenestration on the roadside (north) elevation.
The cottage has a pitched roof covered with stone slates and end stacks, with the eastern gable stack made of brick. The windows are 12-pane double glazed units set in timber sash and case frames.
A rubble boundary wall with rubble copes surrounds the property.
The interior, observed in 2014, appears to have been refurbished in the late 20th or early 21st century. The kitchen features a timber boarded and coombed ceiling.
