Description
Ffagnallt is a large 2-storey, 3-bay farmhouse that features a main range with a cross wing. The building is constructed of rubble stone and has a slate roof with overhanging eaves and moulded barge boards. It has a central ridge stack, a rear lateral stack on the left, and a side stack on the right wing, all made of brick. The openings are adorned with brick dressings and segmental heads. The lower storey includes 3-light windows with wooden mullions and transoms, while the upper storey features similar 2-light casements. The doorway, located to the left of centre, has a boarded door and is set within an added blockwork porch that has a slate roof.
On the right side wall of the cross wing, there is an external stone stack, with the upper part made of brick. The rear of the house has three windows and includes a projecting gabled bay set back from the right end, which has a lower ridge line, indicating a former lateral stack. To the left of this bay are, in the lower storey, 2-light and 3-light windows, followed by a 3-light window in the cross wing, all with similar details to the front. The upper storey also has 2-light windows.
Inside, there is a quarter-turn staircase from the early 17th century, featuring fret-cut balusters, square newels, and a string with strapwork in relief.
