Description

Boughrood Cottage is a 17th-century building featuring a front door positioned opposite the stack, 12-paned sash windows, and a 4-light gabled dormer. The jamb stones bear inscriptions reading WV (17)79 and WIL PHILLIPS. Inside, the cottage has a blocked fireplace and a cruck truss on the inner wall of the end sitting room. There is a gable stack with a stone winding stair on one side and an oven on the other. The roof interior is heavily smoke blackened and includes a plastered division made with wide split laths woven between staves.
