Description
Neuadd is a two-storey building constructed from colourwashed rubble and topped with a slate roof. It features three bays, with a central double-bay living room that has a lateral stack on the west side and a stair at the side. The south bay contains two rooms: one with a gable entrance and the other serving as a parlour with an enclosed stair. The north bay has an additional room. The gable end door is framed with an ovolo-moulded oak frame that is decorated with small billets. The windows, which were originally ovolo-moulded oak lights, were replaced in the mid-20th century and around 1970. These windows are set in openings that have timber lintels and stone drips with dropped out-turned ends. There is also a brick lateral stack added against the back wall of the south end.
Inside, the living room features a chamfered and stopped deep cross beam that is central to the space, as well as another beam over the timber-framed partition to the south bay. The fire beam is slightly arched and chamfered. The lower flight of the dog-leg stair has turned balusters, a moulded handrail, and square newels. A stack and secondary stair in the small parlour is a 19th-century addition. There is a door at the end of another timber-framed partition leading to an inner room, which has not been seen.
