Description
Keepers Lodge is a 1½-storey Gothic-style lodge built from rock-faced stone, featuring lighter freestone quoins and dressings. It has a half-hipped slate roof adorned with bands of fish-scale slates and barge boards that project on brackets, along with a tall stone chimney stack on the right side. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a gable projecting forward on the right side and the entrance set back on the left.
The entrance is sheltered by a half-hipped canopy supported by brackets and features a pointed boarded door with strap hinges. Above the door is a small pointed window framed in dressed stone. The right gable includes a 2-light canted bay window with pointed lights and a parapet. There is also a 2-light mullioned attic window with cusped pointed lights and a colonnette, topped with a shield in the apex of the pointed surround that displays the monogram 'AC' in raised letters. The left gable end mirrors this with a similar attic window.
On the right side wall, there is a 2-light segmental-headed window, above which is another 2-light window set beneath a gablet. The rear of the lodge features segmental-headed openings that include a replacement half-glazed door, single-light casement windows, and an attic casement window in the upper left beneath a gablet. The building has not been inspected.
