Description
The NE farm range at Home Farm is a lofted brick structure dating from the 19th century, featuring freestone dressings and a slate roof with dentillated eaves. It is topped with two tall cast iron ridge ventilators. The original windows are small-pane iron-frame casements with Gothic glazing bars, typical of the Abbey Cwmhir Estate.
On the west side, facing the yard, there is a central advanced gabled bay with a higher eaves line. This bay includes a wide segmental-headed opening that leads to a boarded door set back inside. Above this opening is a replacement loft window. To the right of the center, there is a two-light casement window, while a blocked window is located at the right end. To the left of the center, there is a blocked window followed by wide double sliding doors.
The north gable end features a three-light casement, although the central casement has fallen, and there is a small pitching eye above it with an iron grille. The south gable end has a segmental-headed opening with an iron grille and a blocked pitching eye above. At the rear, there is a central gable with an end brick stack, two segmental-headed vents with iron grilles, and a boarded door on the left side where the wall is painted, suggesting a former projection.
