Description
Kilvrough Lodge is a one-and-a-half-storey building designed in the Tudor Gothic style. It is constructed from snecked, rock-faced stone with lighter ashlar dressings and features a tile roof with overhanging eaves. The lodge has two stone ridge stacks with diagonally set shafts. The entrance is located on the west side, facing the gardens, and includes a pointed doorway to the left with a boarded and studded door. Above the doorway is a stone panel that displays a coat of arms in relief along with an engraved date.
To the left of the entrance, there is a projecting gabled bay that features a canted three-light mullioned and transomed bay window on the lower storey. Above this bay window is a projecting timber-framed gable, painted black and white, supported by two pairs of brackets on each side. The attic includes a three-light oriel window that projects on wooden brackets. On the right side of the gabled bay, there is another three-light mullioned window. The north gable end, which faces the gateway, has a three-light mullioned window on each storey. The rear of the lodge, which faces the road, mirrors the front with a projecting gabled bay offset to the right, although it lacks a doorway on its right side. Attached to the south gable end is a boarded lean-to and a wall that defines a small yard.
