Description
Vennaway lime kiln is a structure featuring battered rubble stone walls with tooled dressings, built into a bank to allow for charging at the top and drawing lime from the bottom. The side walls and top are mostly covered in vegetation. On the south side facing the road, there is an elliptical draw arch that creates a vaulted recess, which contains a draw hole beneath an iron lintel. This recess has large sockets in the side walls. To the right, there is an attached battered rubble stone revetment. The kiln chamber, which can be seen from the top, is circular and lined with stone, although some stones are missing from the rear side.
