Description
Lock-Keeper's Cottage, located next to the Lower Lock Chamber on the Montgomeryshire Canal, is an original two-storey rubble cottage that faces west, with its gable end oriented towards the canal. The cottage features a pitched slate roof and has a tall brick chimney positioned to the left. The front has two windows with casements that are set beneath later arched brick heads. To the right, there is an offset gabled porch with trellising and a finial.
At the rear, there is a parallel range made of brick and slate, which also has similar casement windows. A low cross-range with a gable is incorporated into the bridge parapet to the east. Additionally, there is a brick outhouse situated in the garden.
