8 Severn Square

8 Severn Square is a two-storey building with an attic, featuring a gable end that is advanced towards the street. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and has a steeply pitched slate roof with pitch daubing. The rear elevation retains shouldered raking gable parapets, and the eaves overhang. There is a truncated, panelled lateral chimney with a gablet on the right side. The building has bands at the floor levels and additional bands across the gable ends.

The attic has a small paned cross window with iron lights, set beneath a cambered header arch and shallow reveals, without a sill. The first floor features an offset three-light small paned iron transomed window with a soldier arch, alongside a blocked earlier window with gauged brick voussoirs to the right. On the ground floor to the right, there is another small paned iron cross window with cambered brick voussoirs and shallow reveals, also without a sill. The doorcase is offset to the left and has a modern door.

On the right end elevation, there are cambered arches above blocked or dummy windows. A 19th-century three-light iron casement window is located on the ground floor, while modern windows are found at the angle adjoining No 7 and on the rear elevations.

Inside, the building features a relocated oak stair with plain newel posts, turned balusters, and a flat rail. The interior includes stop-chamfered beams, corner fireplaces, and roll-moulded plaster cornices in the rear rooms on both the first and ground floors. There is a cambered brick mantel arch above the lateral fireplace on the ground floor.
