Description
8 Severn Street is an early 19th century Georgian building that stands three stories tall and features two windows. To the right, there is an arched tunnel passage. The front is finished in colourwashed roughcast on brick, topped with a gently pitched slate roof that has a lead ridge. The eaves cornice is saw tooth in design, and there is a brick chimney at the end.
On the second floor, there are shallow sash windows, with an 8-pane window on the left and a 6-pane window on the right. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows, all featuring keystones above flat arches, plain reveals, and stone sills.
The ground floor has an altered 19th century shopfront, which includes a crested cornice supported by consoles over a convex canted front with plain pilasters. Flanking the recessed doorway are four-pane windows, and there is a rectangular fanlight above the door.
