Description
6 and 7 Severn Square in Newtown are early 19th-century houses that form a reflected pair. They are three stories tall with one window each and feature a front made of Flemish bond brick. The pitched slate roof has a pitch that is daubed, and there is a saw-toothed eaves cornice. A brick stack is set forward of the ridge on the right side.
The second floor has shallow casement windows located below the eaves, with the left window being enlarged. The first floor has casement windows, with a modern window on the right. The ground floor features a small-paned cross window on the right and a modern casement window on the left. The windows have cambered brick voussoir arches, shallow reveals, and no sills.
There are paired doors in the center with heavy frames and soldier arches, leading to plain plank doors. The forecourt is enclosed by iron railings and gates with dog-bars.
The rear elevation is made of English garden wall bond brick and includes casement windows, although the openings have been altered on the left side of the first floor and the ground floor.
