Description
D.C. Evans is a three-storey building with two window openings, featuring a colourwashed brick front. The end elevation and the cross wing at the rear are constructed of half-timber with brick nogging. It has gently pitched slate roofs and a dentil eaves cornice, although the chimneys have been removed.
The second-floor windows are shallow six-pane sashes, while the first-floor windows have six panes in the upper sashes only, with the lower glazing bars removed. The reveals are plain, and the cambered gauged brick voussoirs are notable.
There is a plain late 19th-century lean-to canopy with a multi-paned glass roof over the pavement, supported by three plain cast iron columns. The late 19th-century shopfront features panelled pilasters and foliated consoles that support a dentil entablature. To the right, there is a half-glazed shop door, and to the left, a panelled domestic door.
