Description

F.H. Sunderland & Co is a three-storey building with a two-window brick front. It features wide bracket eaves and a brick chimney stack located midway up the front verge. The second floor has sash windows, although the glazing bars have been removed. The first floor includes splayed bays with sash glazing above an overall shop front, which is adorned with Victorian Gothic fascia ends supported by brackets and truncated colonnettes, along with panelled end pilasters. The shop window is made of plate glass and curves into a splayed central entrance that has a glazed door. To the right of the entrance, there is another sash window and a ventilation band on the stallriser. The rear elevation of the building is also constructed of brick.
