Description
R.M. Jones, Chemist is an early 19th-century, three-storey building featuring a two-window roughcast front facing High Town. The roof is irregular, hipped at the front and sloping down to a lower three-storey, two-window elevation on The Pavement. The left side is roughcast, while the right side is made of rubble, both with a plinth. The building has various small pane sash windows, and there are ironwork window box holders on the second floor of the front. The shop front has been altered and includes pilasters at the left end and flanking a central entrance with a modern door. The shop front wraps around the corner to the right. Additionally, there is a broad bracket hood above a blocked entrance at the top of The Pavement, and a cement render chimney stack is located at the rear over the rubble end wall.
