Description

Quinto of Hay is a three-storey building made of snecked rubble, featuring two-window fronts facing The Pavement and High Town, with a one-window splayed corner. To the north, a lower three-storey range continues with one window to High Town, one to the rounded corner, and a one plus three window front with a basement on Lion Street, which is splayed back to follow the street line. The building has hipped slate roofs with wide bracket eaves and brick chimney stacks.

The windows vary, with various sash styles; the southern end has marginal glazing bars, keystones, and voussoir lintels, while the northern end features small pane windows (some of which are dummy) with timber lintels. The corner windows on Lion Street are curved. On The Pavement, there are paired segmental headed casement windows. The shop front on High Town wraps around the corner with The Pavement and includes a wide cornice and end brackets over panelled pilasters. A four-pane window located midway along the High Town front is set in a former doorway. A similar shop front wraps around the corner with Lion Street, featuring a three-light window to the left and a 20-pane window to the right, with a blocked former corner entrance now fitted with a modern window. There is another entrance on Lion Street, which is arched headed and has a traceried fanlight.

The right gable end is made of rubble and has a brick chimney stack.
