Description
Early 19th century. 3-storey, 4-bay tenement in irregular terrace with shop at ground. Lined bull-faced render to front, rubble stone to rear, cornice above ground, plain margins.
E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 19th century shopfront at ground with decorative reeded timber pilaster additions (circa 1995), recessed door to centre, flanking plate glass windows, panelled stall risers, cast-iron cresting to cills, consoled fascia above, doorway to extreme right, rectangular fanlight, pend entrance to extreme left.
N ELEVATION: adjoining 144 and 148 High Street.
S ELEVATION: adjoining 156 High Street.
W ELEVATION: pend entrance to right, door to left in pend, window at 1st and 2nd off-set to left, 154 High Street adjoining to left.
12-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; stone skews; broad brick stack on party wall to S, rendered stack on W pitch to N.
INTERIOR: shop floor at lower level to rear, upper storeys not seen 1997.
