Description
146 High Street in Montrose is an early 19th century tenement, likely incorporating elements from the 17th century. The building stands three stories tall and is constructed of rubble, with a painted finish and part harling, featuring plain margins.
The east elevation has a harled surface with irregularly placed windows, including three on both the first and second floors. The south elevation is attached to 154 High Street. The north elevation features a blank harled gable end. On the east elevation, there is a door to the left at ground level, with irregular fenestration and the gable end of a demolished building to the right.
The windows are timber sash and case style with plate glass glazing. The roof is covered in grey slate, with stone skews. There is a brick gablehead stack on the south side, a small brick wallhead stack on the west side, and a capped stone gablehead stack on the north side.
The interior was not seen in 1997.
