Description
154 High Street in Montrose is a three-storey tenement building that likely dates back to the early 18th century but has been largely modified in the 19th century. The exterior is harled and features dormer-headed windows on the third floor with plain margins.
On the south elevation, there is a bay at the extreme right with windows on the first to third floors. To the left, there is a window at ground level and a door, followed by another bay with a window at ground and first floors and a corniced doorpiece at ground level with a window on the third floor. The extreme left bay has windows on the first and third floors.
The east elevation adjoins the buildings at 150 and 152 High Street. The west elevation is adjacent to another three-storey tenement that terminates the close but is not included in this listing.
The building has a variety of replacement timber casement windows and a grey slate roof with a wallhead stack on the south side. The interior was not seen in 1997.
