Description
Tredegar House is a 17th-century building with a gable end facing the street. The front is two storeys and an attic, rendered over a timber-framed structure, with the ground floor now built in stone. It has a slate roof with panelled bargeboards featuring a pendant and finial. A triangular-headed attic window has a casement window, while the first floor has flush frame horned sash windows. A recessed six-pane sash window is located centrally on the ground floor. A half-glazed double door entrance is sheltered by a lean-to hood which extends to the right, along the side of the Pin Up Shop. To the right, a single-storey and attic shop projects forward, with a gabled and painted bull-nosed rubble front, a plinth, brick dressings, a slate roof, and a brick chimney stack, along with similar bargeboards. Panelled doors are sheltered by a corbelled lean-to hood. The interior of Tredegar House partly exposes the timber box-frame, with a simple roof construction lacking a collar or tie beam.
