Description
Golesworthy's is a 2-storey building dating from the 19th century, located at the corner of Broad Street and Lion Street. The structure features three-window elevations made of coursed rubble, with a rounded corner. The front facing Broad Street is taller and has wide eaves that slope down at the corner. It has a hipped slate roof and a brick chimney stack positioned midway down the pitch on Lion Street. The windows are small pane sash style, with voussoir lintels and keystones, while the Broad Street front has a central Gothic small pane casement. There are various Victorian and later shop fronts, with the main entrance located to the right of the Broad Street front. This entrance includes fascia end brackets, a scrolled nameboard, and contemporary lettering on the pavement. Additionally, there is a six-panel, part-glazed door on the Lion Street side, and the rear elevation is made of brick.
