Description
6 and 7 Severn Square in Newtown are early 19th-century houses that form a reflected pair. They are three stories tall and have one window each. The front is made of Flemish bond brick, topped with a pitched slate roof that has been pitch daubed. The eaves feature a saw-toothed cornice, and there is a brick stack that is set forward of the ridge on the right side.
The second-floor windows are shallow casements located just below the eaves, with the left window being enlarged. The first floor has casement windows, although the one on the right is modern. On the ground floor, there is a small-paned cross window on the right and a modern casement window on the left. The windows are topped with cambered brick voussoir arches, have shallow reveals, and lack sills.
At the center of the front, there are paired doors with heavy frames and soldier arches, leading to plain plank doors. The forecourt is enclosed with iron railings and gates that feature dog-bars.
The rear elevation is constructed of English garden wall bond brick and includes casement windows, although the openings have been altered on the left side of the first floor and the ground floor.
