Description

The Old Tithe Barn, which belongs to Gladestry Court, is a 5-bay structure featuring a central threshing bay. It is constructed from neatly coursed rubble stone and has ventilation slits, an iron roof, and a double door entry. A rubble lean-to has been added to the south side. Inside, there are good quality pegged roof timbers with prominent assembly marks, and early type king post trusses supported by two pairs of raking braces. The panel between the top of the doors and the eaves is filled with studwork. The barn also has a flagstone threshing floor.
