Description
The barn at Old Court is a large 19th-century structure built from rubble stone with brick dressings and a slate roof. It features opposing doorways at the center leading to the threshing floor, which are topped by broad segmental brick arches. On the northwest side, the doors have not survived, while the southeast side has a half door. Each side of the barn's walls flanking the threshing floor has two tiers of two ventilation slits. The gable walls also have similar slits on two levels, plus an additional slit in the gable head.
Inside, the barn consists of five bays with a stone flagged threshing floor. The roof structure includes collar and tie beam trusses, a ridge piece, and three tiers of trenched purlins. The ventilation slits are fitted with timber lintels and have deeply splayed jambs.
