Description
The large barn at Court Farm is a 19th-century structure built from coursed rubble with roughly dressed quoins, featuring better dressed stone blocks at the piers of the porch entrance. The clay pantile roof was replaced around 1995, while the porch has stone tiles. This rectangular threshing barn has central opposed entrances, with the west side entrance being smaller and lacking a porch. The main entrance showcases a carefully dressed segmental arch and retains its original double doors. The hipped roof of the porch extends to the eaves of the main barn. To the left, there is an inserted opening with red brick quoins and a large oak lintel, indicating a fairly early alteration. The walls on each side of the porch include diamond brick vents, arranged one above another to the right, and the gable walls are plain.
Inside, the barn features four triangular trusses with butt purlins, all sawn and complete. The secondary rafters were replaced, and the roof was felted around 1995.
