Description

The altar tomb in the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels is a memorial designed in a Neo-classical style, resembling a Roman altar. It features a square base set on a square plinth. The shaft of the tomb is adorned with corner pilasters that have moulded bases and a cornice. At the top, the cap includes acroteria at the corners and pediments in between. The faces of the shaft bear damaged inscriptions, with the earliest commemorating an individual who died in 1856.
