Description

Gladestry Court is an 18th-century west range constructed of rubble stone, with tall rubble corner and end stacks featuring moulded caps, indicating a raised roofline. 19th-century brick dressings and windows are also present. The east ranges combine rubble and brick construction and include a pedimented chimney stack on the east side. The building is roofed with slate. All windows are 19th century, set within brick chamfered arches. An adjoining rubble and slate granary block, now part of the domestic accommodation, features a hipped roof.

Inside, a fine 18th-century staircase rises in two flights, with raised and fielded panels on its sides. It has an open string with moulded nosing and decorative bracket tread ends, turned balusters, a deep moulded ramped handrail, and a newel constructed of four balusters topped with an ogee moulded flat cap. One bedroom retains 18th-century wall panelling, a hob grate within an original ogee moulded surround, and a panelled wall cupboard with butterfly hinges. Four-panel doors are found throughout the building, alongside a 19th-century horseshoe grate.
