Lower Cwm

Lower Cwm is a two-storey building with a raised roof line, featuring a single range design. The walls are made of rubble stone, with a rendered top section. There is a brick stack at the right end. A modern boarded door is located in the right corner, and to the right of the door are small-paned timber casements that are regularly placed. The ground floor window on the far left is smaller than the others. A modern lean-to has been added at the right end, replacing the original end room.

Inside, the building has a lobby entry plan and a large open fireplace with rubble jambs, a timber lintel, and a step stop. The exposed beams have a wide chamfer and step stop. One end of the main axial beam rests on the top rail of a low timber-framed partition wall, which sits on a stone plinth; wattle grooves and stave holes are visible. The stairs are winder stairs with a multi-faceted newel cap and scribe moulded newels. The floors are made of flagstone.
