Description
Gwarafog House is a two-storey house built of painted rendered rubble stone, topped with a slate roof that overhangs at the eaves. It features brick chimneys at both ends. The front has a five-window range, with 20th-century casement pairs that include single-pane top lights. The windows have stone sills and timber lintels, and there is a central part-glazed door. A previously existing door on the right end wall has been blocked and converted into a window. At the rear, there is an added lean-to.
The interior has a three-room layout, with a hall in the center, a main room to the right, and a small parlour to the left, which has a narrow room behind it. There are five beams in total, including two over the hall partitions, and the floors are supported by square joists. The staircase is located on the back wall of the hall and features a closed string, a thick rail, and turned balusters, although some have been replaced with chamfered square balusters. The short return of the staircase has boarding below the rail. In the right end room, there is a fireplace that retains a remnant of a heavy wall lintel, with part of it replaced in brick.
