Description
Parc Farm is a house and associated buildings that form an exceptionally long range, featuring whitewashed render and rubble stone with slate roofs. The house consists of one storey and an attic, with a projecting wing at the front left, situated between two long outbuildings: a barn on the right, which has a front wall partly rebuilt in the 20th century, and a long lofted range on the left.
The left range, made of whitewashed rubble, includes a square loft opening in the center and a long horizontal band under the eaves to the right supported by two oak posts. The ground floor has a pair of doors on the left and three single doors, all with timber lintels. The left end gable features a tall loft opening and a door in the end of an outshut to the left.
The house itself is rendered and has a large rebuilt square stack on the ridge to the right. An added cross-wing projects forward to the left and has a small stone end stack. This cross-wing lacks windows on the rear and end, but has one window on each floor on the side that is at right angles to the house front, both of which are 20th-century uPVC. The house also has a 20th-century metal door in the angle to the left, a timber 12-pane horned sash window in the center, a small stair window to the right, and a large gabled uPVC cross-window breaking the eaves over the door. The barn to the right features a rendered front that was rebuilt in the 20th century, with a 20th-century three-light metal window to the left and two doors to the right, the second of which has an altered opening above under the eaves. The end gable is made of rubble stone with corrugated iron in the gable.
At the rear, starting from the left, there is a low loft door leading to the granary, accessed by steps, followed by a door with a timber lintel, and then various lean-to additions, which are interrupted by a barn door in the left range.
Inside the farmhouse, the main room features a massive chamfered lintel over the fireplace and three heavy beams with squared joists. The fireplace includes a bread oven and a cast-iron range. A back kitchen room has been created from the top end of the barn. The stairs are located in a partitioned section on the opposite side of the main room, with a small added room on the ground floor of the projecting wing. The lofted range has a heavy beamed loft floor and tie-beam trusses.
