Description
The barn at Pentre is a Grade II listed structure featuring timber-framed walls set on a rough stone plinth, with recent external boarding added. The south side has three large struts. It has a graded random slate roof topped with a tile ridge.
The barn includes a three-bay box-framed extension on the east side, which has a lower roof height and is constructed from similar materials. This extension also features one roof light.
The main barn has a four-bay plan with the three-bay addition to the east. At the east end of the main range, one cruck frame remains, which includes a tie-beam, collar, and yoke, though it lacks decorative features. The rest of the timber framing is box-framed, and the barn contains old purlins and rafters, with parged slates.
