Description
Llys Farmhouse is a tall and wide but shallow four-unit, 2½-storey farmhouse built in uncoursed local shaley slate masonry. It faces south, with its rear side oriented towards the farmyard. The farmhouse features a rear wing on the east side of the north elevation. The roof is slate with a stone end-chimney on the left and a stone chimney on the right hip, along with a tile ridge. The upper windows have brick segmental arches, while the lower windows have stone segmental arches.
The front of the farmhouse is designed in a style typical for its period, showcasing a three-window symmetrical arrangement with an additional bay to the right. The central door is four-panelled, semi-glazed, and topped with a pediment that has interlacing bars. Above the door is a 16-pane hornless sash window. The other windows are tripartite, featuring 12-pane hornless sashes in the center. The only alteration to the original elevation is the addition of a modern door in the right bay. The right return elevation has two large restored windows, with recently inserted adjacent small windows. At the rear, there is a tall staircase window and small-pane attic windows, with no attic fenestration at the front or ends.
The farmhouse has a symmetrical plan with a central hall and staircase.
