Description

The Mount is a two-storey building with three windows, facing south towards the B4393. The front is constructed of locally sourced shaley stone, laid informally in courses, while the sides are uncoursed. It has a low-pitched slate roof that is hipped at both ends, featuring a tiled ridge and hips. The end chimneys are made of red brick from the 19th or 20th century. The upper windows consist of 16 panes and have been restored with horned sashes that are slightly irregularly spaced. The ground storey features large early 20th-century bay windows with canted sides and sash windows, which use single panes of ordinary quality glass. These bay windows are supported by low walls made of blue brick and are connected by a small verandah that serves as an open-fronted porch. The verandah is notable for its large ornamental timber frame that is boldly curved. The main door is semi-glazed and has round-headed lights, with rendered walling on either side.

At the rear, there is a gabled wing on the right with a lateral chimney, and an adjacent catslide extension on the left. The rear is built of red brick with blue brick quoins, and there are inserted windows on the sides towards the rear, also dressed in blue brick. On the west side, the upper masonry of the rear extension shows different workmanship compared to the adjacent sections, likely indicating early 20th-century improvements. A small rooflight is present at the rear.

The interior is symmetrically planned, featuring a narrow hallway from the front door that opens into a wider space at the rear, where the stairs rise towards the front, likely indicating a relocation of the staircase.
