Description
Plas Cain is a house featuring square panelled framing, painted black and white, and topped with slate roofs that have a tile ridge. The main range includes a brick mid-chimney, while the cross-wing, which is slightly taller, has retained its small slates and features a brick chimney positioned slightly left of centre at the front. There is a rooflight on the left side and gabled dormer windows on both the front and rear of the main range.
The lower storey of the cross-wing is obscured by a garage, and the main entrance is located in the angle next to the cross-wing, sheltered by a small open porch. Previous doorways into the main range have been sealed, and leaded windows are positioned to respect the original panelling.
At the rear, part of the wall of the main range has been rebuilt in brickwork, and there is a 20th-century hip-roofed extension, constructed with reclaimed timber framing, attached off-centre to the cross-wing.
The interior has been largely restored and features a two-bay main range with a central two-hearth chimney, as well as a two-bay cross-wing. The timberwork is plain, with some rough finishes and edges that have been chamfered.
