Description
Tredustan Court features a group of three farm buildings, likely constructed in different phases during the 18th century, which enclose a farmyard. The western barn is stone-built, has four bays, and is topped with a corrugated iron roof. It includes a cartway in the second bay, deep transomed ventilation slits at the north end, and two tiers of slits in the gables. The southern bay has a door leading to the farmyard and a window opposite, with a partially flagged floor. The structure is supported by tie beam trusses with collars.
On the north side of the farmyard is the threshing barn, which predates the other two buildings and may date back to the late 17th century. This timber-framed barn also has a corrugated iron roof and consists of four or more bays, featuring a gabled porch. The framing is four panels high, originally designed with boards set in grooves in the lower panel and woven or daubed upper panels. There is a flagged threshing floor in the third bay, and the end half-bay has a hipped roof that extends over a lean-to. Jowled posts support tie beam trusses with raking struts and long tension braces to transverse timber sills, along with two tiers of purlins. An open shelter is attached to the front of the barn to the west of the porch, and there is a covered link to the single-storey eastern farm building on the east side.
The eastern farm building, likely originally a cowhouse, is constructed of stone and has a corrugated iron roof. It is attached to the front of the threshing barn.
