Description

This is a three-story building dating from the Victorian period, constructed in a Romanesque style. The building’s gable end is set into the street’s slope and is built of patterned brick. It features a tiled roof and a gable parapet topped with a finial. The facade is decorated with light-coloured bands and polychrome detailing around the window arches, dark brick hoodmolds, and yellow brick quoins. On the second floor, two semi-circular windows are flanked by a taller, blind arch containing a Prince of Wales' emblem, with a saw-toothed cornice below. The first floor has three semi-circular windows with leaded glass, incorporating pilasters, nook shafts, and flat foliage detail, along with a cill band. A later, slate-roofed lean-to shop front with three semi-circular leaded lights, similar in style to the adjacent building (No. 2), has been added. A doorway is located on the right side of the building.
