Description
Elizabeth's Fashions & Solitaire is a Georgian style building featuring two storeys and an attic, with a three-window rendered front. It is likely based on a timber-framed structure from the 17th or early 18th century. The building has stucco quoins with a wave profile and a stepped plinth. The steep slate roof is complemented by brick end chimney stacks positioned at different angles, along with a projecting rendered and brick stack on the right gable end. There are two pitched roof dormers with plain bargeboards, casement windows, and slate hung sides.
The first floor showcases 12-pane sash windows with moulded lugged architraves. The shop front for No 20 is modern, featuring a pediment, fluted pilasters, and a recessed entrance, while No 21 has an advanced shop front.
The roof, likely dating from the 17th or early 18th century, has a visible tie-beam in the attic rooms and a heavy ridge beam. At the rear, there is a lower cross wing, with alterations made for attic accommodation. Inside, there are internal timber partition walls between Nos 20 and 21, featuring square framing.
