Description

This is an early 19th-century gardener’s cottage, originally two cottages but now used as a single dwelling, located approximately 100 metres northeast of Evancoyd. The building is constructed of painted rubble with a slate roof. It features a rubble ridge stack with a smaller brick upper section to the left of centre, and a projecting rubble stack with a bread oven at the right gable end. Two boarded doors are sheltered by slated canopies supported by timber uprights. The casement windows retain their original character; three windows in the former left-hand cottage have small-paned iron frames. A blocked opening with a voussoir lintel is situated at the extreme left of the building.
