Description
Abercrombie House, originally a timber framed house from the 17th century with early 19th century alterations, is faced with colourwashed brickwork on the main south elevation. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with the central bay being wider. There are two external stacks at the rear serving the end bays, although one stack has been reduced in height.
The south elevation features a central six-panelled door set within a trellis porch. On the ground floor, there are two-centred half-brick arched windows designed in the Trawscoed estate style, while the upper floor has windows with two-light metal frames. The eaves are adorned with brick dentils.
To the rear, the house has been extended by a link to a two-bay brick building with a gable stack, which is roofed at right angles. The gable end of this building has been further extended towards the road by a 20th-century addition that houses the post office, which is not included in this description. Additionally, a lean-to structure along the rear connects to the brick building.
