Waunmynich Farmhouse

Waunmynich Farmhouse is a farmhouse constructed of stone rubble that has been limewashed, featuring a partly renewed slate roof and three dormers, most of which have also been renewed. The building has renewed brick ridge stacks and consists of one storey and an attic, arranged in a plan of three units that run lengthwise with a single room width. Each unit retains slightly different roof pitches or ridge levels, and there is a large central cross-gabled two-storey porch wing.

Most windows are large 2/2 pane horned sashes, although the dairy wing to the right retains two 6/6 pane horned sashes on the first floor, located just under the eaves. The ground floor features a doorway with a planked door, while the main entrance into the porch is accessed through a segmental arched doorway on the centre left. The farmhouse is separated from the yard in front by a stone rubble wall, which adjoins a separately listed kitchen and granary building at right angles. Also separately listed is a large barn range that forms the far boundary of the extensive farmyard to the right.

As of September 1997, there is no access to the interior. The existing listing description mentions features such as panelling and an old oak door with original ironwork. A plan from Brycheiniog indicates entry through the porch into a parlour on the left, which includes a central chimney and a rear staircase turret, with a hall to the right. Additionally, there are references to ovolo moulded jambs on the stair doorway, an oak partition, a pantry replacing the former passage, and a byre that has been rebuilt as a kitchen.
