Description
The barn at Ty Mawr is a large 7-bay structure built of stone rubble, topped with a Welsh slate roof that extends as a hood over a large double doorway. The barn is oriented northwest to southeast and features one row of ventilation slits on the side and three on the gable end. The right end of the barn has a battered appearance, while the left end includes loft and door openings at a higher level, reflecting the higher ground level. There is a separately listed cartshed range to the north, and a long byre range to the south that is now derelict.
Inside, the barn contains a flagged threshing floor and simple tie beam trusses, which appear to be a later replacement.
