Description
The barn at Lower Goytre Farm is a lofted structure built from rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. The southwest side, which faces the farmyard, features a mainly timber-framed design with a weatherboarded front set on a stone plinth. The three bays at the northwest end have only the loft weatherboarded, with part of this cladding having been renewed. The weatherboarded front includes three doorways with replacement boarded doors and two barred windows. At the northwest end, there are two lintelled doorways, with a widened doorway to the left and a window at the left end. The barn has six loft openings, and the northwest gable end displays stepped triangular breathers. Attached to the southeast gable end is a lean-to that has a doorway and a loft opening above, along with a triangular breather in the gable. The rear of the barn features four triangular breathers.
The barn's roof consists of eight bays supported by trusses with king posts and raking struts.
