Description
No. 1 with attached outbuildings is a pair of cottages dating from the 19th century. The cottages are box framed with a painted brick plinth and nogging detail. They have graded slate roofs and a large axial brick stack with diagonally-set, clustered shafts. The cottages are symmetrically laid out, with each having two-light casement windows and an off-centre doorway accompanied by a three-light casement window. A C19 battened plank door remains in No. 2. Each window has a small canopy hood supported by moulded brackets, a detail characteristic of the Vaynor Estate. The roof has two dormers, each divided by a central mullion into paired casement windows, also with small canopies. Flanking each cottage are single-storeyed outbuildings, timber-framed and weather-boarded. The right-hand outbuilding includes a small brick section adjacent to the house, featuring a three-light casement window.
