4 Lugton Road, Dunlop

4 Lugton Road in Dunlop consists of a pair of single-storey, three-bay cottages built in 1806. The cottages feature central doors, flanking bipartite windows, and gabled roofs. They are constructed of random rubble with ashlar dressings; No. 2 is whitewashed, while No. 4 is harled and painted. Notable architectural details include a base course, eaves course, and quoin strips on No. 4, as well as raised ashlar window and door margins on both cottages. The doors are slightly recessed, half-glazed, and timber boarded.

At the rear, there is an early 20th-century piend-roofed out-shot in the center and a gabled section in the right-hand bay of No. 4. No. 4 also has a flat-roofed dormer and Velux windows, while No. 2 features sash and case windows with two-pane glazed upper sashes and plate glass in the lower sashes. No. 4 has non-traditional aluminium framed windows. The cottages have ashlar-coped skews, rendered stacks with assorted clay cans, and are roofed with graded grey slate.
