Description
E. Owen & Sons is a mid-19th century, late Georgian, three-storey building with a four-window red brick front. It features a slate roof with wide eaves and a central red brick chimney stack. The building has six and twelve-pane sash windows, which are adorned with voussoirs lintels on the first floor. The full-width shop front includes an overall cornice and panelled pilasters that flank the windows, along with an off-centre entrance that has a half-glazed door.
The right gable end is finished in pebbledash. Attached to the right side, which closes the passage to the adjoining property, is a boarded door topped by a high parapet. The rear of the building is slate hung and includes casement windows and modern outside stairs. To the right, there is a three-storey brick cross range featuring stock and blue brick band coursing and voussoirs, with horned sash windows. At the far end of this range, a segmental arch leads to the rear garden. Additionally, there is a three-storey brick building attached, which contains a weaving loft at the top.
